Telefe (acronym for Televisión Federal/Federal Television) is an Argentine television station. Since 1991, it is the broadcaster of The Simpsons in Argentina. The station, located in Buenos Aires, is owned and operated by Paramount Global through Televisión Federal S.A.
In Season 19's "E. Pluribus Wiggum", During a conversation about politics at Moe's, Carl says, "I could really go for some kind of military dictator like, uh, Juan Perón. When he disappeared ya, you stayed disappeared." Argentine deputy Lorenzo Pepe asked that episode be pulled for calling the former president a dictator. The episode was banned for a long time before finally premiering on Telefe in 2016, with the phrase cut, as it was in many Latin American countries.
