Synopsis[]

Grampa decides to be a protester to have people pay more attention to him.

Full Story[]

Grampa is regaling the Simpson clan with stories about World War II but they actively ignore him. Grampa realizes via Apu that his storytelling is putting people off and he needs a new medium to get his messages across. After Jimbo spray paints him, Abe figures out how to get his points across via graffiti. Soon the town is introduced to El Grampo and the police try to stop him but they are inept and Bart is even getting jealous. El Grampo is caught by Bart after he does some sleuthing and is forced to take Bart in as a double act or else go to the police, Abe instantly thinks that Bart respects him if he wants to throw Grampa to the wolves. They do their stuff, annoying Homer who is forced to clean the graffiti due to parking tickets. The Springfield 500 takes place and Grampa commanders a blimp and he, with Bart's help, paints "Bring back Westphal's Auxiliator" and Burns is inspired to buy out the company and make it himself. The police shoot down the blimp and have Grampa cornered when Bart tells them to go easy on him cause he did it for love. The other seniors tell them they're El Grampo, realizing that youngsters look up to criminals nowadays. Wiggum's plan was to shoot them all but after realizing his paperwork load, he decides to pit all the seniors in combat, which Grampa wins. It doesn't do the trick as every Simpson member ignores Grampa still but Bart gives him some Westphal's Auxiliator to tell him that they started stocking it in the Kwik-E-Mart, and Grampa feels relieved that ONE member of his family cares about him.
