"The Bear" is a bear who indirectly started the immigration controversy in Springfield.

The Bear was accused of attacking residents of Springfield, and was spotted on a number of times on Evergreen Terrace. Unhappy with the constant sightings of the bear, the police use force to try and stop him from coming back to the area. Ned crashed his Geo Metro trying to avoid the bear.
It is said that the bear is very curious, and enjoys eating garbage and mailboxes. [1]
