Plot[]
In the morning, Comic Book Guy and Kumiko were having a lovely morning while eating some breakfast. Homer proceeds to knock on the store door waiting for the shopkeeper to open up. Due to CBG spending some time with his wife, the Simpson family buy some magazines in a nearby stand for several birthday parties. Once the family was out of earshot, CBG and his wife went outside to spend some time. They went over to a palace to relax and drink some tea, then they danced outside of the town hall, then they were in a movie theater watching Miyazaki Marathon. Meanwhile, Homer and Marge were having a rough time at several birthday parties, Homer tries to get Bart's attention when it is time to go to Milhouse's puppy party by going inside the bouncy house only to get jumped on. Next, Homer and Marge had to listen to the nonstop crying of a bunch of toddlers while Maggie was having a good time. Then, the parents are in an arcade and Marge realized that she hadn't eaten anything, so Homer had to find some leftover food for his blue-haired wife to eat. After having an exhausting day, the parents drove home before realizing they picked up Leland Huebner III by accident, they eventually went back and got Bart.
Ned was requested to look after the kids so Homer and Marge could have a breather. The duo went over to Moe's Tavern due to a Trivia Night going on, they eventually spotted Comic Book Guy and Kumiko and joined them. They managed to win and celebrated by having dinner at Ramen Coma. As Homer and CBG are sloppily eating their ramen, Marge invites Kumiko over to show her some life hacks. When Marge prepares to make a milk bottle for Maggie, Kumiko went over to the little baby's room to check on her and sang a Japanese lullaby to make her happy. Right after Marge complimented Kumiko for handling Maggie well, the Japanese wife told her that she has something to tell her husband. Back at the comic bookstore, Kumiko slams the door open and demands Comic Book Guy to impregnant her causing him to fly back towards his couch. Comic Book Guy was hesitant at the idea of having a child, but Kumiko had dress up as Greta and started to make out with her husband. Comic Book Guy resisted it, making himself and Kumiko sad.
Later that night, Homer and Marge noticed Kumiko's unsettling comments on InstaSnap so Homer suggested that Comic Book Guy should have kids. Homer and Marge began their plan by taking the kids with them to the cemetery for movie night. The parents request their kids to convince Comic Book Guy to change his mind while Homer and Marge go get some concessions. Once the parents are out of ear sight, Kumiko makes Maggie laugh and Bart and Lisa make snarky comments towards Comic Book Guy; the shopkeeper tells them that he needs to enjoy watching "Forward to the Past". Meanwhile, Homer and Marge helped themselves with some popcorn and took a stroll, then they spotted a brand-new crypt and went inside it. Later, Bart and Lisa are on their phones while the film is rolling making Comic Book Guy confiscating them so the kids can focus on watching the film. As Homer and Marge got to take a good look at the interior of the crypt, the former plays some relaxing music and the two of them begin to make out. Then the film ends when the steamboat gets out of the river and dashes towards the camera.
At first, Comic Book Guy thinks Bart and Lisa didn't like the movie, but the two kids shared their positive thoughts on it making Jeff Albertson happy. When Homer and Marge finished hanging out, they were about to leave the crypt only to realize its locked meaning the parents are trapped! They tried to pull the door open and call for help while the smooth jazz was playing to no avail. Not long after the movie ended, Comic Book Guy was sharing some movie facts with Bart and Lisa, then Jeffrey realized he was wrong to dismiss the idea of having kids making his wife happy. Noticing that Homer and Marge were nowhere to be seen, Bart, Lisa, Maggie, Jeffrey, and Kumiko search the cemetery to find the parents, Bart begins teasing Lisa until they hear their parents making zombie noises (they were still grunting while trying to signal for help). The two kids were spooked and ran towards Jeffrey for comfort. Kumiko encouraged him to make Bart and Lisa feel better, but Comic Book Guy was reluctant to do, causing him to run away. Finally, Homer and Marge were let out much to the relief of the kids, but Kumiko was upset that her husband ran off. Then the shopkeeper arrives at a mansion and goes inside. Kumiko passionately persuades Homer and Marge to bring Comic Book Guy back. They proceed to his childhood home to find him.
He lived with family members who did not have children and spent their time collecting possessions rather than focusing on him. Marge attempts to persuade Comic Book Guy to come back, but he is unable to and will remain at the house. Marge grabs the framed picture of Comic Book Guy, noticing that he appeared sad while on the baseball team. The narrative describes his transformation into a baseball, yet no one engaged in the game with him until the day before the significant match, where they were injured in the multi-canoe pile-up. He received the pitch, but his father was no longer there to witness his achievement, and he failed in his attempts. As his teammates abandoned him, the garbage truck also disposed of the comic books, igniting his passion, and leading him to become Comic Book Guy.
Marge confronts his father for not being with his son, threatening to lick his beloved stamps. The father explains that he was purchasing a signed baseball from Sandy Koufax for his son. He did not attend his game when he lost; he was unsure how to console him, so he bought the collectible for him. They start playing a game of catch with the encased ball.
Back at home, Kumiko continues to cry alone but is relieved that Comic Book Guy has returned home, he is now a Changed Better Guy. They begin dancing together to have a baby.
