- This episode shows Lisa falling in love once again; examples are "Lisa's Date with Density," where she falls in love with Nelson Muntz and "The Simpsons Movie," where she falls in love with a boy named Colin. However, the only relationship that is mentioned or referenced by Lisa after the initial episode or movie, is with Nelson, which has been referenced several times in past seasons, including season 23 itself.

- This is the second episode where a message to Homer is spoken out loud by its writer. The first was "Simpson and Delilah".
- In the Couch Gag, Moe references FOX getting the 500th episode wrong, they got the 300th episode wrong too, they credited it as "Barting Over" when in reality it was "The Strong Arms of the Ma". Moe essentially breaks the fourth wall in the couch gag.

Goofs[]

- In the couch gag, Lisa looks at the Simpsons World: The Ultimate Episode Guide, Seasons 1-20 to find out it is only episode 499. But the book only covers episodes 1 - 441.
- It is possible that knows that this is the 58th episode since the 441st so she just wanted to know how many episodes were there until season 20.
