*In the Couch Gag, Moe references FOX getting the 500th episode wrong, they got the 300th episode wrong too, they credited it as '[[Barting Over]]' when in reality it was '[[The Strong Arms of the Ma]]'. Moe essentially breaks the fourth wall in the couch gag.

Trivia

  • This episode shows Lisa falling in love once again; the first was in "Lisa's Date with Density," where she falls in love with Nelson Muntz, and "The Simpsons Movie," where she falls in love with a boy named Colin. However, the only relationship in which Lisa shows any interest in after the initial episode or movie, is with Nelson, which has been referenced several times in past seasons, including season 23 itself.
  • Abe's version of Pryamus and Thisbe is incorrect. Most of it is true except that Pyramus and Thisbe died not long after reaching the tree.
  • The speedboat in the episode resembles the speedboats from "The Simpsons Spin-Off Showcase" and "Kill the Alligator and Run."
  • The last time Homer sunk with a vehicle and rose to the surface occurred in "Dumbbell Indemnity."
  • The last episode with Homer in a batting circle was "Bart the Mother."
  • The last time Milhouse's eyebrows go off in a blast was in "She of Little Faith."
  • This is the second episode where a message to Homer is spoken out loud by its writer. The first was "Simpson and Delilah".
  • In the Couch Gag, Moe references FOX getting the 500th episode wrong, they got the 300th episode wrong too, they credited it as 'Barting Over' when in reality it was 'The Strong Arms of the Ma'. Moe essentially breaks the fourth wall in the couch gag.
  • This could be the first appearance of Sherri and Terri's sister.
