Trivia

  • The episode title, "The Daughter also Rises", is a spoof of the saying, "The Son also Rises". The meaning of it is that the son of the father must also rise above the father, but in this case it is the daughter.
  • This episode shows Lisa falling in love once again; the first was in "Lisa's Date with Density", where she falls in love with Nelson Muntz, and "The Simpsons Movie", where she falls in love with a boy named Colin. However, the only relationship in which Lisa shows any interest in after the initial episode or movie, is with Nelson, which has been referenced several times in past seasons, including the current one, season 23.
  • The speedboat in the episode resembles speedboats from "The Simpsons Spin-Off Showcase" and "Kill the Alligator and Run".
  • The last time Homer sunk with a vehicle and rose to the surface occurred in "Dumbbell Indemnity".
  • The last episode with Homer in a batting circle was "Bart the Mother".
  • The last time Milhouse's eyebrows go off in a blast was in "She of Little Faith".
