• The title is a reference to the 1973 political thriller film The Day of the Jackal. It refers to the SeatMiser purchasing the tickets and jacking up the prices.
  • The episode title "Day of the Jackanapes" also parodied said film.

• The concert being a secret trap was taken from the M. Night Shyamalan movie Trap with many scenes mimicking the movie.

• There are several technical inaccuracies regarding Bart's phone, even if they can be dismissed due to cartoon logic:
  • Contrary to popular belief, rice is not really effective in drying out a phone, and could cause even more damage.
  • With all of the failed attempts to unlock the phone, the phone would have been disabled for a few minutes or more.
  • A butt would likely not be registered as a suitable "face" to unlock a phone.
