The Edison Museum is a museum dedicated to inventor Thomas Edison. It contains displays of Edison's inventions, a gift shop, and supposedly even Edison's brain (though tourists are not allowed to see the latter object). Homer and Bart Simpson go to this museum after Homer discovered that Edison invented a chair with six legs that prevent it from falling over. Homer planned on destroying the chair at Edison's museum with his Electric Hammer so he could sell the chair as his own idea. However, learning that Edison felt eclipsed by Leonardo Da Vinci made Homer feel sympathy for him, and he elected not to destroy the chair after all. After he left, the Electric Hammer was found and assumed to be one of Edison's own inventions, bringing wealth to his heirs and disappointing Homer.
