  • The song played in the background as Ned and Edna go dating is "Heaven Must Have Sent You" by the Elgins.
  • Joey Kramer (drummer for Aerosmith) refers to "Walk This Way" and "Love in an Elevator", two Aerosmith songs

Trivia

  • After this episode first aired viewers could go online and vote on the simpsons website if Edna and Ned should or shouldn't stay together. They ended up staying together. Over the closing credits Homer refers to the voting being closed while the episode airs as a rerun.
  • This is the second episode to end with a cliffhanger. The first was Who Shot Mr. Burns? (Part One).
  • The first episode where the Opening Sequence is shortened. The Opening goes from The Simpsons Opening title and the "P" zooms in to the start of the episode instead of the normal Opening Sequence
  • In the part when Ned goes to Edna's house for the first time he is wearing 4 shirts.
  • "Lady Pumas" is a parody of Lady Gaga.
  • The last time Homer expressed disbelief about Maggie shooting Mr Burns occurred in Revenge is a Dish Best Served Three Times.

  • The last time a character waited for the bathroom while oblivious to the bathroom actually being free and another character escaping occurred in Homie the Clown.
  • Joey Kramer (drummer for Aerosmith) appears again recalling the adventure they had in "Flaming Moe's", after Edna tells him to "come and get your drummsticks".

Goofs

  • In this episode, when Ned catches Edna he says he never met her before, yet he briefly dated her in Alone Again, Natura-Diddly, the episode where his wife died.
  • At the start of episode Lisa is seen in the school audience behind Miss Hoover. But then she comes in to make a speech for the school's basketball team "Springfield Lady Pumas" as equipment manager.
