I hope I can trust you two not to eat those yummy chocolate-chip cookies.
Marge Simpson

The Perfect Crime is the seventeenth Simpsons short and originally aired on The Tracey Ullman Show December 13, 1987.

Plot

Mom bakes a batch of delicious cookies, and Bart attempts to steal them. When he reaches for a cookie he burns his fingers. Then, Bart and Maggie are alone in the kitchen and Bart tries to get Maggie to eat a cookie even though she won't. Then Bart grabs a cookie right when Mom walks in. The cookie flies into the air and Maggie catches it in her mouth. Mom thanks Maggie for preventing Bart from making a mess. After that, Mom leaves the kitchen and Bart starts eating the cookies saying he'll blame Maggie for it. Mom walks in and when Bart tries to blame Maggie, Mom doesn't believe him. Dad and Mom come back to find the tray empty. Dad suspects Maggie of eating the cookies, but as a witness she knows exactly who took them and guides them along a trail of cookies running across the floor. Mom, Dad, and Maggie find Bart lying on his back in his bedroom amidst a pile of cookie crumbs. Looking up at them with his stomach full, he groans, "There is no perfect crime." His head bangs back down on the ground and Maggie, secretively, snacks on an uneaten cookie.
