The Saga of Carl |
|
Trivia[]
- Carl previously mentions his Icelandic childhood in "'Scuse Me While I Miss the Sky".
- In the final speech, Homer talks about a market crash that occurred in Iceland. Although the real bank of Iceland suffered a crash in real life, this is not the first time the Simpsons have touched on the topic: in "The Bob Next Door", Homer's failed loan single-handedly causes the crash.
- The Fjord Fjiesta that Homer, Lenny and Moe rented is a parody of the Ford Fiesta.
- "Hjorleifsstræti" that the address of Carl's house is similar to Hjörleifshöfði.
- Carl's car in Iceland is similar to the Mercedes-Benz W108.
- Homer said "Ég er með frábæra hugmynd", Lenny and Moe said "Komdu með hana!" in Icelandic language.
- Homer mentions he doesn't know why people laugh at 69, which is a sexual pose.
Goofs[]
- When Homer and Moe pull Lenny and Carl apart, Yukki's Grossfud is behind Homer. In the next scene, it is behind Moe, and therefore on the other side of the street.
- In this episode Moe's eyes are joined together, but normally there is a small gap between them.
- Marge isn't used to sleeping in bed without Homer pushing her to the side, so Homer had to use a sofa as a substitute. But when Marge went to Rancho Relaxo for a vacation alone in "Homer Alone", she found comfort having a bed to herself. It's very common for someone to expect routine unless a major change happens, and Marge is known for settling into routine.
- Homer makes mini-pools out of beer kegs since he no longer has the $50,000 he intended to use for a fancy swimming pool. But the Simpsons had a swimming pool before in "Bart of Darkness".
- In various shots when Homer, Lenny, and Carl are at Moe's bar, their mugs of beer vanish and reappear.
