The Simpsons Road Rage print ad
  • The Homer, the car that was built for Homer by Herb Powell, is unlocked when you complete all 10 missions in the game. Also, when highlighted, Homer will say, "The sticker price is... $82,000?!"
  • In print ads for The Simpsons Road Rage, it depicted a drawn panel similar to a comic where the entire town is in calamity, with Marge, acting as a passenger to Homer in a convertible, tells him with fear that he is driving like a maniac, and Homer responding non-chalantly that "Driving's just a suggestion. Like pants."
  • The Mr. Plow car does not count as one of Homer's cars, despite Homer driving in it in the episode.
  • Due to the fact that the game is similar to Sega's Crazy Taxi, Sega sued Fox, and the two companies settled out of court for an undisclosed amount of money.
  • If the player hits a Burns bus bench 2 extra seconds will be added.
  • This is an early example of a video game that knows about the world around it because of specific holidays, one of the characters will be themed like that:
    • Marge = Thanksgiving
    • Bart = Halloween
    • Apu = Christmas
    • Krusty = New Years Day
  • In the character select screen, if one selects Moe's Sedan, pandas will hop out of the trunk, which is a reference to Cape Feare.
  • Seen in Evergreen Terrace are posters for "The Simpsons Skateboarding" and "The Simpsons Road Rage".
  • Goof: Willie's eyes flash green before he is picked up and after he is dropped off.
  • Goof: The Springfield Pet Cemetery is misinterpreted as the Springfield Cemetery by Grampa, Ralph, and Reverend Lovejoy, despite the fact its entrance says "PET CEMETERY", It is likely the designers and developers got confused.
  • Joe Quimby can say "You drive worse than cousin Teddy!" if his driver is behaving chaotically. This is a reference to the Chappaquiddick Incident, where Mary Jo Kopechne, a female passenger of Ted Kennedy, was killed when he accidentally drove his car off a bridge.
  • Krusty the Clown can, if driven to his destination fast, say "That ride was over faster than Chevy Chase's talk show!" The Chevy Chase Show, a talk show hosted by actor and comedian Chevy Chase, lasted only five weeks.
    • Similarly, Krusty the Clown can, if his ride drives terribly and/or is late, make a negative comparison to Mickey Rooney regarding driving skills.
  • Marge Simpson can, if driven to her destination fast, say "You're a regular Jeff Gordon!" Jeff Gordon is a professional race car (NASCAR) driver.
  • If Homer Simpson gets taken to his destination quickly, he can say that the driver "should be in the Cannonball Run". The Cannonball Run is an illegal cross-country rally from Connecticut to California which spawned a movie trilogy based on it, so whether he's reffering to the actual thing or the movies is up to interpretation.
  • Jasper Beardly, Bumblebee Man, Comic Book Guy, the Squeaky-Voiced Teen, Captain Horatio McCallister, Hans Moleman, and Professor Frink are the only passengers who do not have unique conversations with certain drivers. Nick Riviera is the only passenger who has conversations for all drivers; however, these conversations consist of the same "Hi everybody!"/"Hi Dr. Nick!" exchange when Nick picks up a passenger.
  • In the Xbox/PS2/GameCube ending, Mr. Burns, while ranting about Springfield's successfully buying back the public transit system, references the Summer of Love when stating that it was the worst display of civil disobedience he had ever witnessed.
  • In the GBA ending, as the curtains close, Homer will end up spazzing out, which may be a reference to his wigging out upon eating Focusyn-laced candy.
  • Due to gameplay mechanics in the Xbox/PS2/GameCube versions of the game, some of the exchanges between the passengers and player character will sometimes come across as out of character for the driver:
    • If the player is playing as Apu and picks up either Nelson and its requested destination was the Kwik-E-Mart, he will gladly take him there, despite him openly admitting to planning to either vandalize or otherwise shoplift the storefront.
    • If the player is playing as either Homer, Bart, Lisa, Grampa, or Marge, and picks up Snake with the destination being 742 Evergreen Terrace, they will gladly take him there, despite his openly admitting to planning to loot the house.
    • If the player gets a "SLOW" mark while playing as Chief Wiggum and dropping off Ralph, he'll sometimes say "My daddy is going to put you in jail. Bye!" despite the fact the player is playing as Chief Wiggum.
