Stories[]
Springfield's Letters to Santa[]
Angry Dad (Shovels The Driveway)[]
In a comic drawn by Bart, a grumpy Homer shovels the snow, only to get buried in hail. He hacks away most of the ice with a pickaxe and jackhammer and melts the rest with a flamethrower, but his feet are still stuck in a block of ice.
He slides down the hill, ending up in a giant snowball, and lands next to the Jebediah Springfield statue. In real life, Homer is covered in ice and is angered by Bart's strip.
Hot Cider in the City[]
Lisa and Milhouse invite Bart to go carolling with him, but he would rather write a list of pranks. That is, until he hears the neighbours are giving cookies away free, to which he changes his mind and decides to carol after all.
After singing to Ned Flanders, the three kids walk off to find the next house, but run into Jimbo, Dolph, and Kearney, who are also carolling and see the younger kids as intruders. The boys are intimidated by them, but not Lisa, who states that carollers don't have turf. The bullies demand to know where the cinnamon sticks are from, and beat the younger kids up until Bart gives an answer.
However, Bart directs them to Moe's house instead of Ned's. Moe initially enjoys the bullies' singing, but when Bart throws his voice and claims they were the prank callers, Moe angrily chases the bullies.
Homer's New Year's Resolutions[]
Marge returns from the Kwik-E-Mart to find Homer writing a list of New Year's Resolutions. Marge claims he never keeps his resolutions, which Homer denies. She asks him to prove it, so he brings up when he vowed to lose weight (but he cheated by wearing paper clothes), put a new blade on Ned's lawnmower (which he did, but he hasn't returned it), spend more time with the kids (which he did, but he did so by taking them to Moe's bar), and drink fewer mugs of beer (but he cheated by drinking from giant mugs).
Marge then passes out from an uncooked chicken salad that Homer made, so he takes her to a hospital in Jamaica. He tries to make the stay as romantic as possible, since he promised her a romantic vacation.
The Gift of the Maccabees![]
After an Itchy & Scratchy special where Itchy burns Scratchy's butt with a menorah, Krusty decides to tell his audience about his worst Hanukkah ever, which happened in Las Vegas.
He used to work at a kosher casino, where he fell in love with a showgirl named Glenna and started dating her. He then tried to earn money for a Hanukkah present gambling, but lost. Eventually, on the first night, he was able to buy her hair stuff by selling his watch, but she sold her hair to buy him a watch chain.
The next day, he sells the chain to buy a device to grow her hair back, but she sold the hair stuff to buy back his watch. The day after that, Glenna gives Krusty a book by Joey Bishop, but Krusty had gotten beat up by him. He gives her a necklace, only to find out that he had been conned and it was made of candy.
The night after that, Krusty gives Glenna an ice sculpture, which melts, and the next night, both give each other fudge, which they hate. The night after, Krusty gives Glenna booze but she's a recovering alcoholic, and she gives him trick insoles for his clown shoes, which he lost at a poker game.
Then, Krusty sells blood (leaving him dizzy and making him slur his words) to buy Glenna a poodle, but she is allergic to dogs. After a crash in the street, he tried to write her an apology letter, but she wrote him a Dear John letter. Then, the whole strip turns out to be all a dream had after Krusty passed out at Moe's bar.
Snow Falling on Cheaters[]
Kent Brockman declares it a snow day, which alarms the police, as weird crimes tend to happen on snow days. Just then, Lisa calls and reveals that someone stole her "snow-person" (an androgynous version of a snowman) moments before a snowman competition, so the police arrive at the Simpson house.
Wiggum notices some footprints leading from the sidewalk, past where the snow-person was, to the front door, making him suspect that the thief is inside. They go inside and discover that the glove they found on the lawn is Bart's, making them suspect him, yet he claims he was sledding at the time. Then, Ned enters and says that his sons' snow Jesus was stolen, and Bart was inside at the time and therefore cannot be the thief.
The Flanders brothers claim Nelson and his friends were the thieves, so the cops follow their snowboard tracks. They end up at the Kwik-E-Mart, where the bullies also claim innocence, pointing out that they don't even know where they'd hide the snow sculptures or how they'd carry them. Then, "Squishee-Man" (a man Apu made out of snow and Squishees) gets stolen. Apu points to a man leaving in a car and declares he must be the thief, so the cops give chase.
They corner the man, who turns out to be Snake, and search his car, but find he is also innocent. Then, there is a report of another snowman theft at the Duff brewery. Duffman reveals that he had two snow-girls stolen and suspects Fat Tony and his lackeys, so the police interrogate Fat Tony. He claims he was at the pier at the time, and the Sea Captain backs him up. Wiggum then suspects that the thief is stealing the snow sculptures to cheat in the snowman competition, giving him an idea.
He disguises himself as a snowman and Eddie and Lou enter him in the competition. Moe tries to steal Wiggum, revealing himself to be the thief since he wants Maggie to win, and the police chase him into the bar (where he is keeping the snowmen) and arrest him. Moe apologises and explains about Maggie, so the cops decide to help him.
They pretend Wiggum covered in snow is Maggie's entry, making her win (to the chagrin of Comic Book Guy, who also made an entry), but then Moe spots Sideshow Bob and his son having dug out of prison and wanting to ride on the snowmobile Moe is locked up on.
