"The Tell-Tale Pants" is the sixteenth episode of Season 35, being the 766th episode overall. It originally aired on May 5, 2024. The episode was written by Al Jean and directed by Steven Dean Moore. It features guest stars Kipp Lennon as Elton John.

Plot[]

Marge comes upon a surprising windfall and, angry with Homer, spends it secretly on herself.

The family are ready to head out for the 35th Annual Springie Awards. Homer tries to put a button into his neck, but a button pops off because it's too tight to wear causing swallows inside his throat and choking. Marge wraps her arms around his torso to remove a button from his throat. The award show started, and Duffman presented the award giver. While giving the award to others, Maggie lost for "Best Silent Baby" to her nemesis, Gerald. There's one more is Marge and won a Gold Springie Award. However, it's her dream and there are springs all over the bed.

Marge apparently ends up taking Santa's Little Helper to the vet and Bart to the hospital. She tried to respond to Homer, but nothing. At the bar, Homer received nothing to messages due to the jammer device. While they're messing around, Homer hits a window and tears his pants. Moe tries to shoot at a rat, but the jammer got destroyed and their phone signal is now up, and Homer received a message that Marge had been trying to reach him all day. He rushes back home, but Marge got so angry at him for not calling her. The next day, Marge is watching Trash for Cash while fixing his pants. One the show, a woman sells her husband's pants for $2,600.

Homer wears sweatpants for work. Meanwhile, Marge goes to The Haber-Cashery to take Homer's pants to sell. Collectible Pants Dude about offer to sell is $20, but not so fast after Marge saw a pair on eBay $3,000. So, he'll offers $2,595 to sell and Marge handing Homer's pants to him. At the power plants, Mr. Burns and Smithers are watching Oppenheimer, but Mr. Burns doesn't like this movie,and Smithers preferred the better movie than Oppenheimer. Mr. Burns and several of his employees are entering the reactor core where other employees are to stop a critical mass. However, they're adding too many blocks which would result in meltdown, but eventfully, Homer removes a block and saves the day from meltdown. Mr. Burns then given two free baseball game tickets to Homer.

Meanwhile, Marge is looking to spend money on it. She feels guilty and goes to Rev. Lovejoy, and then the town center and call Homer need to tell after she sold his pants, but he's in the baseball game. She goes to Spiffany's to buy the biggest ring. After buying the most expensive ring, however, Marge feels guilty walking around with her ring on. She stopped by Helen but walked away from her. Back home, Marge tries to hide somewhere in the house, but it wasn't satisfied with this. Chief Wiggum got lost on Bart where Marge hides the most expensive ring in the attic.

At the bar, Moe tells Homer what's wrong with it. He admits that he doesn't appreciate Marge enough. Moe then sing "She's A Mad Wife, Homer J." when Homer is about to be kicked out of his bar for being selfish and ungrateful toward Marge. Lenny and Carl threw Homer out of the bar and then Nelson ran him over after Homer kicked out of his bar. When Homer gets back home, he discovers the most expensive ring what she bought and got angry, but he thinks about things she does. While Marge was sleeping, Homer put a ring into her finger.

The next day, Marge no longer feels guilty about buying the most expensive and wearing a ring. However, she's watching the news where Kent Brockman reports that Amnesty International has declared that the Spiffany Blue Diamond is the most unethically mined gem. In the episode ends, Marge will wear her ring inside the house, not outside.
