Jack Lemmon's portrayal of Frank Ormand is based on the character Shelley Levene, of whom was played by Lemmon in Glengarry Glen Ross. The character Gil Gunderson, who would be introduced in a later episode, was also based on Levene.

But during the fight an unknown man sporting the same facial features as Legs but with a different hairstyle is seen running past Marge and Homer while they watch the fight.
