The Vampire Twins of Transylvania Prep was a heavily edited version of the novel The Troll Twins of Underbridge Academy. TweenLit Inc. Publisher intended to publish this new version with the help of Lisa Simpson, who was promised a book deal for the sequel. However, Lisa was, as it turns out, a triple agent, and switched The Vampire Twins for The Troll Twins at the last minute, allowing the original book to be published (though not before Neil Gaiman double crossed them and took credit for the whole thing.)
