When Coach Moe recruits the world's greatest brawlers to teach Nelson the art of hockey goonery, Simpsons fans are enraged by a second hockey episode in 35 years.
Plot[]
Outside Moe's Tavern and King Toot's, King Toot uses his new leaf blower to irritate Moe Szyslak. Toot then boasts about winning a trophy for coaching a youth hockey team, the Li'l Tooters. After brooding for ten months, Moe decides to form his own team, the Bar Flyers. At home, Bart Simpson is at the first hockey game and Homer Simpson must take him to Springfield Ice Rink for hockey game. In their debut match against the Li'l Tooters, Bart is overpowered by a larger opponent from King Toot's team, leading to the Bar Flyers' defeat. While on the way home, Moe witnesses Nelson Muntz intimidating Martin Prince. Observing briefly, Moe offers Nelson a spot on the team as the enforcer, tasked with defending the top scorer. Initially doubtful, Nelson takes the team's schedule from Moe.
During the match against the Ice Lubbers, Bart got knocked again. Nelson then joins onto the ice and takes the players out who target Bart, which leads the Bar Flyers to win. However, the referee forfeited the team because Nelson had cafeteria trays strapped to his feet instead of ice skates, which violated the rules. Moe tells Nelson that he performed well and then he takes him to the Top Goon Academy for improvement in his goon skills. In the academy, Nelson learns that his foremost duty is to safeguard his primary, who, for him, is Bart. After training with coaches Stu, Dave, and Tiger, Nelson graduates at the top of his class with Moe attending the ceremony. In celebration, Nelson and Moe ascend in a Duff Blimp and toss pickled eggs at them below. Homer gets annoyed again and drives far away from his home as Bart is ready for the next game.
In the next game against The Holy Moleys, Nelson knocks a player out to let Bart reach the goal, leading the team to win. They gather at Winners' Pizza where Bart sends prank texts to Moe. Nelson, seeing what Bart is doing on his phone against Moe, knocks him out against the wall which breaks his arm. Moe is so angry at Nelson for seriously injuring the best player and kicks him out of the team, calling him a “Fist.” Feeling hurt and nothing more than a thug, Nelson goes to Fit-Fat Tony to join the Springfield Mafia.
Moe visits Mrs. Muntz to find Nelson and apologize to him. When Mrs. Muntz informs Moe that Nelson considered him as a primary figure in his life, Moe realizes that Nelson was just protecting him then goes to find him. At home, Homer was about to watch the hockey game to enjoy his first hockey-free weekend, but Marge Simpson told him that he must take Bart to the physical therapy where Homer gets annoyed again. At the Glitz Carlton Hotel’s back room, Nelson is about to attack a hostage with a pipe under Fit-Fat Tony’s orders, but Moe arrives, finding him. Even after discovering that the hostage is Toot, Moe convinces Nelson not to attack, revealing that it would equate to throwing away his own soul, as well as admitting that Nelson is more than just a weapon and a fist and even admitted that he and Nelson will have their backs for each other, “Scuzz to scuzz.” Nelson, convinced by Moe’s speech, then leaves the hotel with Moe while Legs, Louie, and Johnny Tightlips, moved to tears by Moe’s speech, then confides to Fit-Fat Tony that he sees them as weapons. On his way back to Moe's, Moe smashes Toot's window and steals the hockey trophy to give to Nelson.
At The Wizard of Ows Physical Therapy, Homer is frustrated when the therapist told Bart that he requires four months of physical therapy.
