Toys 'Я' Us is a toy store in Springfield, based off the real-life toy store chain of the same name.
History[]
While the citizens of Springfield were depriving the town of all child-friendly things, they changed also the toy store. Moe climbed a ladder and reversed the "Я" into "R" in a sign, closing Toys "R" Us. Several tearful children were watching him.
In "D'oh Canada," the Simpsons pass a closed Toys "R" Us on the way to Niagara Falls, with the Jeffrey mascot attempting to hang himself; the closed Toys "R" Us is a reference to the real life Toys "R" Us chain closing down in 2018 due to bankruptcy but in a year later in 2019, the real life Toys "R" Us reopened under a new parent company called TRU Kids, Inc.
