- Treehouse of Horror XX will air before Halloween
- One scene pays homage to Psycho and all Hitchcock with Lisa chasing Bart through the Bates' residence and encountering Agnes Skinner as Norman's mother.
- One segment is a parody of Zack Snyder's Dawn of the Dead, with the Simpsons dodging a zombie horde of Springfield residents while trying to get into Apu's zombie bulldozer/Humvee hyrbrid. Apu runs over Moleman and leaves nothing but Moleman's brains and eyes behind.
- The premier will be the episode where Comic Book Guy creates a new super hero and it is made into a movie (which, according to past interviews, Homer plays the star and has Seth Rogen, who wrote it with Evan Goldberg, as his personal trainer.)
- The 2010 Christmas episode features one segment where Santa's elves revolt.
- They want to film one segment in a special format.
- A surprise appearance from the Guinness Book of World Records, where a representative announced that The Simpsons is now the longest running sitcom in the world, displacing The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet which had 435 episodes and that they now have the record for the most Emmy’s for a single show. The show was also selected by Guinness readers as one of the top 100 records of the decade.
