The Village People are a 1970s disco band. One of their most famous works is "In the Navy", a song which is played on the nuclear submarine which Homer Simpson, Barney Gumble, Moe Szyslak, Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, the Female Naval Officer, and Captain Tenille board. The Village People themselves dance to the song on the submarine's roof, but they presumably died when the ship went underwater.
