- This is the second time Bart said "Crap" in front and Marge and she repeats it. The first time was in "A Star is Torn", but in this episode she says "Crap" in her mind. In both cases Marge doesn't want Bart to say that word but despite that she does say it herself.
- The title is a reference to the Christmas song White Christmas.
- A spoof of A Charlie Brown Christmas in the theme of the name is "An Itchy & Scratchy Christmas" opening theme song with jingle bells sound and christmas character singing and short episode.
- "It's a Wonderful Knife" parodies It's a Wonderful Life.
- The license plate on Marge's car reads SABF01, which is the production code for this episode.

- Life of 'Pu is a reference to Life of Pi.

- There is one scene where two Moe Szyslaks are shown at the same time.
- When Professor Frink is explaining the science behind the snowfall, the top right corner of his scarf turns from green to white for a few frames.
- When Marge is talking to her guests as they prepare to leave and as they begin singing Christmas carols, she is standing next to the couch in the living room and there is a wall a few feet behind her with a plant in a cubbyhole. In the closeup shots of her, she is standing in the sitting room in front of the archway leading to the living room. The couch and the two lamps can be seen behind her in those closeup shots.
- Reverend Lovejoy is shown alternately with and without a watch while he is typing his sermon.
- Gloria's Daughter was seen coloring a picture with Dakota, but in the next scene, was seen wearing her regular clothes, in the Cootie Quarantine with a few other girls.
