Yale University is a real life Ivy League university in New Haven, Connecticut. It has appeared several times in the series.
History[]
In the Season 2 episode "Bart Gets Hit by a Car", Lionel Hutz mentions that he attended several universities such as Harvard, Yale, M.I.T., Oxford, The Sorbonne and The Louvre (possibly a lie, as M.I.T. doesn't have a law school and the last one is an art museum).
In "Burns, Baby Burns", it's revealed that Mr. Burns was part of the Yale class of 1914. In 1949, during a class reunion, he met Lily Bancroft. They fell in love and "Expressed their love physically", ending up on Larry Burns' birth. During "The Canine Mutiny" it's revealed that Burns was possibly a member of Skull and Bones. Sometimes during conversations, Mr. Burns mentions Yale.
Mr. Burns went back to Yale in the Season 28 episode "The Caper Chase", where he discovered how politically correct it became. This inspired him to create his own University.
Non-canon Appearances[]
Future[]
In Season 6's "Lisa's Wedding", Lisa and Hugh Parkfield meet at an eastern university, which could possibly be Yale.
In "Future-Drama" and "Barthood", it's mentioned that Lisa is going to study at Yale. Also, during "Future-Drama", Lisa mentions that Yale is now owned by McDonald's and has banned men from taking science.
In "Mother and Child Reunion", Yale is one of the many colleges that Lisa got accepted into.
Treehouse of Horror series[]
In "Treehouse of Horror XXII", during the segment Dial D for Diddily Ned briefly encounters a prostitute he tells that she should spend less time on your back and more time on your knees. This results in her going to the Yale School of Prostitution.
In "Treehouse of Horror XXVII", during the segment Moefinger, the Love Tester in Moe's tavern shows "Yale Teaching Assistant" as the lowest score, so low that it is usually hidden below the display, below "Cold Fish" and "Lifeless Slug".
